St. Aloysius RC Boys' School I met with the Principal and Physical Education Teacher. The Principal was very welcoming and thought that the project would be a great one for the school. The school does not sell any sweet items to the students. Healthy eating is not part of lower grades syllabus and that would be our target group. The Physical Education sessions are open on Fridays, so we have decided that would be a good time to introduce the project to the students and have Fridays as our days for the project and use any other day where necessary. The Principal has identified an area in the school for the vegetable garden. Due to lack of space at the school, the garden will have to be build up with four levels of shelves/boxes made out of wood to support the tyres. The area identified for the vegetable garden. Gordon & Walcott Memorial Methodist School I met with the Principal and she was extremely excited about the project and is looking forward to see the produce from the vegetable garden. The Principal indicated some of the produce that she would like to grow in the garden, lettuce, tomatoes, bell and seasoning peppers. The Principal identified a spot of land in the school where we can start the garden. We may not need the used tyres for this school because there is soil to plant the plant the vegetables. The one thing that the Principal really stressed on, is to have the project continue for a long time after it has started. The area identified for the vegetable garden. Anglican Primary School I met with the Principal and this Principal was also excited about starting the project. The Principal identified an area for the vegetable garden. The Principal thinks that during the students lunch break will be the best time to engage the students regarding the garden. The school already has some used tyres but they would need much more for the purpose of the garden. The area identified for the vegetable garden. Ave Maria Girls' Primary School I met with the Principal and I must admit that this school is very dear to me because this is where I obtained my early education. The Principal again was very excited and was extremely happy that the school was chosen. The school has a feeding program and would love to use the vegetables that they grow towards that program. The Principal identified four (4) areas that we can use, we just have a little cleaning up to do. I am looking forward to seeing the transformation from what it is now to when the gardens start flourishing.
