I have partnered with some of the Primary Schools on the island. The principals are excited and ready to start the project. The principals of the schools that I have visited so far have identified areas in the schools to start the vegetable gardens. I have partnered with the Ministry of Health and Wellness, met with a nutritionist who is willing to work with me. She has given some information about healthy eating, from that information I have started creating videos using cartoon characters (which I will be uploading soon) to use in the schools. I felt that it would be better if I use the videos, which would be more interesting for the children instead of having someone come in to speak to them and it is something that the schools can continue to use throughout the years. We will engage in discussion after the videos have been viewed.
I have partnered with the Ministry of Agriculture along side the Farmers' Association to provide fruits and vegetables to the students during the sessions and also to help the students with the vegetable gardens. I have partnered with a choreographer, Richard Ambroise to come up with a fitness program for the kids. We are hoping to make this sessions exciting and fun that at the end the students won't even realize that they were actually doing exercise and hope that as they grow older, they would continue with the exercises. I am hoping to partner with some of the water bottle companies in St. Lucia to provide water to the students during the sessions.
